Actor Randeep Hooda Honoured With Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award

Actor Randeep Hooda has been bestowed with Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award in recognition of his contributions to Indian cinema and his recent film Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. During a ceremony held at Mumbai’s Dinanath Mangeshkar Natyagrih on Wednesday, Hooda expressed his gratitude, saying that he felt honoured to receive the award from a family closely associated with Savarkar.

“Swatantrya Veer Savarkar” presents a cinematic portrayal of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, one of India’s most influential and controversial figures during the struggle for Indian Independence.

Directed by actor Randeep Hooda, who also portrays Savarkar in the film, the biopic offers a retelling of India’s armed revolution for independence. The ceremony also honoured Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan with the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award for his exceptional contributions to Indian cinema.
