PM Modi highlights new opportunities emerging from India’s solar energy expansion
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday highlighted the opportunities emerging from India’s solar energy expansion, sharing an article by Union Minister of Education, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution & New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi on initiatives supporting the country’s clean energy transition.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said Joshi’s article examined the growth of solar power through schemes such as PM Surya Ghar and PM-KUSUM, alongside opportunities in solar-powered agriculture, energy storage, manufacturing and green jobs.
“India’s solar energy journey is opening up new opportunities!” the PMO said, adding that the article looked at the road ahead as India works towards its 500 GW renewable energy target.
Sharing his op-ed on X, Joshi said the clean energy transition was creating possibilities for millions, from rooftops to farmlands.
He credited PM Modi’s vision for advancing the transition through PM Surya Ghar, PM-KUSUM, green hydrogen and domestic solar manufacturing.
Ahead of the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit 2026, Joshi also said he looked forward to welcoming global leaders and innovators to strengthen clean energy partnerships.
