High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka Santosh Jha pays visit to Hybrid Power Project site at Nainativu island in Sri Lanka
The project stands as a testimony to India’s commitment towards Sri Lanka’s sustainable energy security. Mr. Jha commenced his visit to Northern Province, seeking blessings at the historic Madhu church. He prayed for the well-being and prosperity of the people of both nations. It is notable that India is expanding infrastructure facilities for pilgrims in the church. Meanwhile, the Indian High Commissioner also offered prayers at Nagapooshani Amman Temple & Nagavihara as well as at the ancient Thiruketheeswaram temple, which was renovated with grant assistance from India. Underlining the shared heritage and strong cultural bond between India and Sri Lanka, Mr. Jha visited Ram Sethu and offered prayers for the well-being of people of both sides and India-Sri Lanka relations at the historic location.
The High Commissioner is on his first visit to the northern region of the island after assuming the charge as the Indian envoy.
He later distributed deep freezers to the fisherman communities of Mannar district as well.
